How the cup works

Regional ties

North and South stay separate until the final. The League chooses each round’s pairings based on travel distance.

Home and away

Once pairings are set, home and away are drawn. The first team drawn plays at home.

Straight to penalties

Level at full time means penalties, with no extra time. This applies in every round, including the final.

How are the two North byes decided?
  1. The two eligible North clubs with the highest points per game receive a bye into the quarter-finals.
  2. PPG is points divided by matches played, shown to two decimal places, from the qualifying competition through which the club qualified. North clubs qualify through their North Cup groups, not their separate league tables.
  3. At least 3 matches must have been played. Rankings are taken when the League confirms Round 1 fixtures.
  4. Tied PPG is separated by goal difference per game, then goals scored per game, then drawing lots.
  5. Each bye club faces a Round 1 winner in the quarter-finals. The bye clubs cannot meet before the North semi-final.

Qualification list confirmed 25 October 2026. Undecided places and pairings will be updated after league confirmation.
